Competitors

The competition analysis has to distinguish on the one hand the functionality of UNITED-PAGES as a (web-)service and on the other hand the role of UnitedPages(UG) as provider.

UnitedPages(UG)

UnitedPages(UG) as a provider of UNITED-PAGES is in competition with any Email-Provider. This competition is conceptually intended to increase the spread and acceptance of UNITED-PAGES in the long term.

An analysis of competing companies is obsolete, however, since 'Google et al. is standing. These companies bring everything that can make them a superior competitor, unless you have protection that makes you 'invulnerable'.

UnitedPages(UG) will remain an important default provider for all email users whose email providers do not (yet) participate in UNITED-PAGES.

UNITED-PAGES

A rule of thumb is that an innovation has to be 'ten times better'.  Be it that established solutions are considered 'good enough' by many users, their disadvantages are accepted as 'status quo', the effort for a change seems too high or trust in new solutions is still missing.

The advantages of separating data and applications are well known, but so far no infrastructure comparable to UNITED-PAGES has been established. The coupling of functionalities to the email address format is not new (e. g. are SIP 'phone numbers' shaped like email addresses). The combination of the email address format with web service technologies, supplemented by the focus on a wide range of concrete application areas, is unique to date.

The specification of UNITED-PAGES can be graded as an internet protocol standard and as an alternative to established or upcoming technologies.

UNITED-PAGES does not appear as a competitor for a certain solution, but as a multi-purpose infrastructure it can be used for versatile functional extensions or alternative implementation. Some data-formats are of general interest (e.g. PKI, addresses) other of special interest (e.g. weather, IOT). A one-time practice and administration can pay off for the user several times.. Despite the general benefits and conceptual advantages already described,
